Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Equity and Indigenous) and Head of Kurongkurl Katitjiin
This senior leadership role provides an opportunity for an inspiring Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander academic leader. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Equity and Indigenous incorporates the role of Head of Kurongkurl Katitijin, ECU’s Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research.
As a key member of the Executive team, the appointed individual will be responsible for maintaining and building on the momentum of the Centre’s already earned world-leading reputation.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Equity and Indigenous will have an opportunity to create a unique environment, manifesting a commitment to equity; collaborating in the development and execution of university-wide equity initiatives; and highlighting the value of equity throughout the University — particularly as it relates to underrepresented and marginalised populations.
Candidates with the vision and capacity to lead, develop and support ECU wide activities and programs meeting the academic and cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students; while also raising the awareness of Indigenous cultures and issues amongst the general community are encouraged to apply.
An authentic commitment to the values and culture of ECU is essential.
