NAISDA Dance College

As the Finance and Corporate Services Manager for the NAISDA Dance College, you will be responsible for all things finance and procurement based within the organisation. You will also be responsible for project management and improvement process within the organisation, and will be responsible for the management of the organisations Human Resources functions.


About the organization

NAISDA Dance College, formerly The National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Association,  is Australia’s premier Indigenous training college with a proud tradition of producing the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander performers.

Established in 1976 and relocating to the NSW Central Coast in 2007, the current NAISDA facilities offer world class training facilities to deliver accredited training programs that are rich in cultural learning and practice.

Located on Darkinjung Country just north of Sydney, NAISDA provides a creative learning space designed to inspire and equip Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for the future, with many NAISDA graduates continuing to play key roles on and off stage at some of Australia’s most renowned dance companies.


About the role

NAISDA is seeking an experienced Finance and Corporate Services Manager to join their busy and experience team of professional support staff.  In this newly developed role, you will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer as well as the board to ensure the organisation is running on all cylinders and well placed for future development.

Your main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Finance and accounting.
  • IT and communications.
  • Project management.
  • Process improvement.
  • Supervision and support of HR functions within the business.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience and be able to meet the below selection criteria.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Previous demonstrated experience in a similar position.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g Business Administration, Finance or similar or relevant equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated capability in financial management, reporting and control.
  • Proven capability in business governance.
  • Proven experience with accounting practices, systems and procedures.
  • Proven ability to drive change across an organisation

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivate.
  • Results focused.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Passion for the arts.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and retain strategic relationships.

Additional Requirements

  • Current NSW drivers license.
  • Current working with Children Check or the ability to undertake one prior to commencement within the organisation.
  • To be considered for this role, you will have evidence of your Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage and be able to demonstrate a cultural connection and appreciation of Indigenous culture..
