About the organisation
The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Corporation (NATSIEC) is the national peak body representing Indigenous education. NATSIEC members are Indigenous Education Consultative Bodies (IECBs). In 2018, the IECBs raised the importance of establishing a community-controlled national peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education. In 2023, NATSIEC was established as the peak, independent, community-controlled, national voice on Aboriginal education. NATSIEC is registered with ORIC, a member of the Coalition of Peaks, and sponsored by the Federal Department of Education.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO and working collaboratively with other NATSIEC staff and board, the Indigenous Education Consultative Body (IECB) Project Officer will provide expert advice and support to IECBs. The role will provide guidance and support to recognised Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), committees and advisory boards in their journey to becoming recognised IECBs. The Project Officer will produce reports, collect data and provide information on IECB member and associate member organisations. Additionally, the role is required to develop and maintain a database of member and associate member organisations and relaying this information to the CEO and board.

About you
You are a strong communicator who understands the importance of relationship building, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and organisations. You possess experience in project management where you have planned and implemented organisational objectives. You hold a detailed knowledge of government policy, procedures and practices and how they relate in the education space. You are self-motivated where you can manage your own time to achieve outcomes, while being resilient where you can overcome obstacles. You will be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances in the workplace whilst effectively prioritising work and addressing what is most important.
