Health Consumers Queensland (HCQ) is seeking expressions of interest for up to three (3) new Directors to join our Board, due to the pending retirement of existing Directors.

Applicants will bring relevant qualifications and/or experience in organisational governance in preferably a health or community setting, together with a genuine passion for engaging consumers and supporting them to contribute to achieving better health service outcomes.

Ideal Candidate

Non Executive Directors x 3

• With preferable experience in one or more of health services, consumer engagement, technology and/or marketing
• Applicants from outside South East Queensland are strongly encouraged to apply
• The Board is seeking cultural diversity including suitable applicants of First Nations background.

To be successful you will bring

• Qualifications and/or experience in governance and organisational leadership
• A passion for and understanding of consumer engagement and / or experience as a consumer/ carer
• Well rounded and demonstrated skills and career experience in steering the strategy, governance, risk and financial management of organisations
• The ability to work with Board peers in a transparent, constructive and collaborative environment where diversity of opinion, emotional intelligence, self awareness and measured judgement is valued

You will also have one or more of:

• Career experience in a health service or community service setting
• Consumer engagement or serving as a consumer representative or carer
• Technology leadership
• Marketing strategy and execution
• Lived experience from a First Nations or other diverse cultural background.

Where will the candidate be working?

Directors will attend meetings virtually and face to face in Brisbane throughout the year. Regional applicants are encouraged to apply.
